Build to Scale TEchnical Assistance
NextCycle Michigan in collaboration with the Centrepolis Accelerator at Lawrence Technological University is pleased to announce the availability of technical assistance to support disadvantaged communities and businesses in advancing the circular economy in Michigan! This activity is an extension of the NextCycle Michigan programming and is funded by an Economic Development Association (EDA) Build to Scale grant and the State Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). This opportunity for direct technical assistance will run through September 2025.

Cost modeling or feasibility analysis
Organizational or business strategic planning
Entrepreneur coaching
Greenhouse gas analysis (for a product, program, service, or process)
Manufacturing readiness support
Material supply assessment
Product development support
Product lab testing and validation
Waste characterization study and recovery assessment
Material collection
Material processing
Owner’s engineer work, procurement, specification development, vendor selection, project implementation and commissioning
Public engagement, project development and facilitation

To request technical assistance, please complete the required application form linked below. This streamlined application is designed to capture relevant information about your organization or community, your circular economy project needs, and help us assess your eligibility for grant funding. We are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis. Considering limited resources, please apply as soon as you are ready to begin your work helping advance the circular economy in Michigan.

Micros Grants
Program Currently Closed
The MICRO Scale 3Rs Solutions Program is a grant program of up to $10,000 designed for recycling entrepreneurs, municipalities, businesses, or non-profits who need a little help to make a big impact. While similar to a traditional grant program, MICROS has a simpler application and more flexible spending opportunities.
Four Cycles throughout 2020-2022 awarded small grants to over 50 projects across Michigan.
